The 9th Annual Samson International Smart Mobility Summit will take place on 16-17 March 2026 in Tel Aviv – Israel.

The Innovation and Smart Mobility Division
The Innovation and Smart Mobility Division at the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety aims to promote research, development, and groundbreaking technologies in the field of smart mobility, and to support their adoption within Israel’s transport systems.
The Division supports academia, startups, and industry through a variety of tools and programs, including a national research center (ISTRC), the national smart mobility community EcoMotion, pilot and sandbox frameworks, and additional mechanisms. The Division also promotes infrastructure, policy, and regulation in order to enable the testing and adoption of new technologies that improve mobility, safety, and sustainability across Israel’s transport systems.
The Division works to ensure that innovative technologies reach the market smoothly, supported by appropriate regulation that can respond quickly and flexibly to the evolving needs of the sector.
To support this work, three testing centers have been established – one for autonomous and connected vehicles, one for cybersecurity, and one for drones and advanced air mobility. In addition, the Ministry operates a national technological platform to pool, process, and analyze mobility data, using advanced methods and tools to support planning, performance measurement, real-time traffic management, and more.
The Division currently oversees more than 100 pilot projects involving innovative technologies, including autonomous buses, the National Drones Initiative (INDI), adaptive traffic lights, and advanced safety measures.
